If it’s ok with you I would prefer late September or October.

@Blue all fine with me, based on recent conversations I was tempted of proposing the human target as pen name
.

@Blue I just have one additional suggestion, as much as I like “hole in one” as a prompt, how would you feel about an unknown prompt just given at the beginning of the write up? That way we don’t have to stop ourselves from thinking about ideas for the next three months.

@Shocker
Yes, the suggested time works well. And it's also good that we're choosing a different topic—one that has nothing to do with this contest.

Let the results of 2026 contests speak for themselves. Women winners get asterisks.Blue wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 5:27 pmI used to attribute that to the fact that she’s a woman; women often get more points than men in these contests because the men want to curry favor with them

I think, we have not so many female writers in the contest, or do I go wrong?

@Lucius Thank you for calling out that sexist nonsense that casually dismisses the quality of the writing of our female authors. It's the second time that this has been said and it's important that especially the men on the board speak up when somebody suggests bullshit like that.
My stories: Claire's Cesspool of Sin. I'm always happy to receive a comment on my stories, even more so on an older one!

I think so too; however, according to this theory the 'currying-favour vote' should not be diffused among many women writers and they should prevail in damn near any contest they enter...Blue wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 7:06 pm I think, we have not so many female writers in the contest, or do I go wrong?

Agreed. Even if it was meant as humor or as an offhand comment, this was not the right place for it.Claire wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 7:11 pm @Lucius Thank you for calling out that sexist nonsense that casually dismisses the quality of the writing of our female authors. Re: Contest Investigation Findings and Corrected Results
Sorry if my post caused any stir.
However, I am familiar with this phenomenon from two other areas:
a) Photography: When a male photographer posts a picture of a female model—on Instagram, Facebook, or wherever—it generally receives significantly fewer likes than when the model posts the same picture herself from her own profile.
b) I am a moderator for several groups on the largest German erotic portal (which also operates internationally). I can clearly observe this same phenomenon there.
Yes, those are different platforms compared to this one, and the motivation behind men "liking" posts by women there is often to grab attention—"fishing for compliments."
The reasons for ratings here might be different; in that respect, my post is probably out of place—at least on this forum. The mod team is welcome to delete it.

I don't think we need to delete your other post @Blue.
Also I think there are women, and men, who fish for compliments, but here we write stories, not show off our tits, ass and pussy or cock for that matter. So I feel like we all should be considered writers before we think about gender at all, and our stories will have to stand on their own based on the writing, plot and erotica. It is kind of a competition and collaboration of creativity, imagination and other mental faculties.
In many ways in this arena men know better what men like, so in theory should be able to write stories that appeal to men better, and yes women probably know better what women like too
Also it is not really a woman's fault that some men believe they can get with her if they compliment her, like/rate whatever, even if that is demonstrably not true, some men still believe that.
So let's not bring gender issues onto this forum, just write stories you enjoy, and maybe that your target audience will enjoy, and then said audience and your fellow writers will vote or rate your stories based on if they like said stories
