I have my plot worked out and have outlined the story. Am I right, we must publish the story by the time the clock runs out?
Indeed, the clock runs out midnight November 1st in Europe time, October 31st in the evening here in America.
I'm not great with time zones, so sorry for not being more specific. The timer is enough though
The first draft is complete, at 19,000 words. I only hope they are good words and the story comes together with my rewrite. How do we show it's in the contest?

You can include the specific contest tag, when you post your story. A quick mention here, will also help.
Well, I won't be writing for this contest, it's outside my area of knowledge. Admitting my ignorance of the fact, I'd never heard of a Rube Goldberg before. Good luck to those of you who do write for it. I'll read the stories and try to learn a bit along the way.

Essentially in a story format it would be someone/something orchestrating a series of simple events that when combined make things more complicated than necessary. Or a character chooses a series of events and later realizes it would have been easier to do one thing instead.
This will be my first story that I post here. It's six chapters long, and each chapter will be posted separately. However, all of them will be posted one after another, a few minutes apart. The story is complete, and the current word count is 21,284. That may go up or down before I'm done with my final review.
The Sinister Contraption is my title; the thread for the story will be The Sinister Contraption by Mille Dynamite: Rube Goldberg Contraption.
If I can satisfy myself that it's ready for consumption by the masses, it'll go up today.
I probably won't get the story done before the deadline. Ever slog through a story until you finally get to the fun parts then find out the person that inspired the climactic scene died a depressing death?
Been struggling with this story for the last couple weeks. Got through the heist setup, but wasn't sure which direction to go. Last night I had an idea on the climax, and who was going to be in it. There's this one woman I know that I've been wanting to include for a long time and wanted to see what she's been up to. I googled her and the first thing that popped up was her obituary. Kinda killed the vibe and derailed what I had planned. Next thing I know, the story goes in some crazy direction and I'm half tempted to just delete the whole file.
Unless something changes in the next couple days, I'm just going to scrap it and focus on NaNoWriMo.
