Thanks. I'm not a fan of Harbaugh to the Giants either. They're just capable enough to do it right, but also just as likely to completely fuck it up. Harbs will drag that team as is to the edge of the playoffs. The Giants fans are insufferable when they're successful. The Jets have been through Hell over the years, and having to watch the Giants be even slightly successful has to suck. Even when the Giants suck, the Jets find a way to suck more. Though I'm still hopeful for the Jets over the next couple years.
I'm old enough to remember the tail end of both Noll and Cowher's tenures. I was still a kid with Noll, but I remember how he just seemed so old back then and how the team should've been better. Cowher's retirement wasn't a surprise to anyone. Rumors had flown around for a few years about how he wanted to spend time with his family and once he won the Super Bowl, he had one foot out the door. He almost retired after winning, but had a year left on his deal and didn't want to put the Rooney's behind the eight ball on finding a new coach. He played out his deal then retired. For Tomlin, the burnout was getting to him and I think that last loss broke him. This past year was built for an all-in run, but just hoping that getting in and getting lucky was enough.
Now that the shock has worn off a bit, I'm excited about the future. The schemes were old, the offense has sucked for about a decade, and the roster has more holes in it than a brothel. But those players would kill for Coach T. We need some fresh minds to scheme things and point the team to the future. The Steelers will cast a wide net and interview everyone under the sun, probably picking the most obscure assistant coach that will find a way to get this team to a decent record with, say Malik Willis or Mac Jones at QB.

Re: Sportsball Talk
The NFL is in the worst timeline possible. The Patriots are back in the Super Bowl, and it's up to Sam Fucking Darnold to prevent them from winning a 7th? Not only that, but the Steelers hired Mike McCarthy? Let's replace one coach who won one Super Bowl and his last appearance was 2011 with another coach named Mike who has one Super Bowl and his last appearance was 2011.
On the plus side, at least it's a coach who has heard of the forward pass.
On top of that the Bills are a clusterfuck, the Rams can't catch a punt, and the Pro Bowl is a joke.

Re: Sportsball Talk
When the Titans moved Vrabel out after two losing seasons (without a functional QB) I knew he would resurface somewhere. Wish it wasn't with the Patriots. Jet fans have been walked on by the Pats for forever. Now we get another dose.
As a double dose of Jet misery the QB they ran out of NYC, Darnold, is in the Super Bowl while we don't have a quarterback of even college ability. Thank you sir, may I have another!
Not exactly over the moon about McCarthy but am hoping for the sake of the Steelers coaching legacy that he's a good fit.
Two weeks of bullshit to wade through before as usual. Wonder when they'll find a way to play the Super Bowl on the Sunday before President's Day. Can't believe it hasn't happened yet.
