I'm very sad. For the first time this month, I don't have a chapter to post for the NaNoWriMo event. I'm still well-ahead of my targets, but it's a point of pride to get that 1667 each day as a minimum. Oh well. It's after ten now. Even with my generally rapid writing, anything I got out now before midnight would be especially drekkish. I guess you all get a reprieve.
How's anyone else doing? I see some mentions of starting, so I'm looking forward to following along.

@Vela Nanashi
First of all, get well soon! Health comes first.
Despite my severe pain, I've also started writing. I've written about 10,000 words so far. But I doubt I'll manage to reach the required 50,000 by the end of the month. Then it'll just be a long story for the forum. As a serial, and without any time pressure.

That is seriously impressive, I find myself lacking the drive and discipline of sitting down and typing the story that lives in my mind. Right now everything feels more enticing than writing.Blue wrote: Fri Nov 14, 2025 8:27 am @Vela Nanashi

Re: NaNoWriMo Challenge
I'm currently at 24.5k, a little behind schedule but not too bad. My current pace on days when I can write for chunks is more than enough to get back on track. Weekend got out of hand with some family stuff, but got some time today to get mostly caught up.
Also, I was thinking this morning about the posting "deadline." I'm realizing some of us might be writing until the deadline, and that doesn't give time for posting or editing. So how do you guys feel about 3 days or a week to get the stories edited and posted?

I do not mind adding a bit of extra time for folks, but I don't personally edit, just spellcheck while writing and then post
also not started yet... sickness sucks.

Re: NaNoWriMo Challenge
I'm open to whatever others think is best. As you can plainly see, I'm posting as I go. And if you're reading what I'm posting, it's equally clear I'm not editing once it goes up. Overall, it's not too bad, but I can already think of many fixes I would make if I slowed it down and revised before sharing. Oh well. NaNoWriMo is supposed to be a challenge so I'm treating it as one. Currently at about 37k, and probably no posting tonight. I whipped off five hundred words at lunch but had no time after work.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of you!

It might be a different story for Blue and Vela, both handicapped in their efforts due to health issues. In my case, I simply bit off more than I could chew , but knew snd accepted the rules of the challenge.

I am not asking for more time for me no
if I write I write, if I do not then that is fine too, I can write 50k words whenever I want, does not have to be this month for me.

Re: NaNoWriMo Challenge
You don't need to take me into consideration. Either I reach 50,000 or I don't.
If not, the story will be published in installments as a normal story, so as not to overwhelm readers with its length. And I'll then post in both German and English again.
