Two things again.
1) At the moment, 8 out of 13 contestants have already handed in a story. I know of one author who will most likely post their story tomorrow and two who might be struggling with the time limit. I want to add the following rule to the tournament to make dropouts less likely.
You can hand in a story late. But that means naturally that your story will have less time to accumulate rating. So if you hand in your story two and a half days after the deadline, then your entry will only have half a day to get rated instead of three. So the later you hand in your story, the more will you reduce your own chances to advance to the next around. I think that's a fair way to allow for some leeway when it comes to handing in a story late while giving those who are on time a natural advantage over those who are late.
2) The theme for the next round will be: All By Myself (Inspired by the well known 1975 Eric Carmen song of the same name)
No, you don't have to reference the song or its themes. You can take that phrase on its own and do whatever with it you want. (I can already see @SoftGameHunter foregoing all attempts at eroticism in his story to bring back this very old meme instead...)
You may start writing for the next round already, just be aware that you might be eliminated from the tournament if you start writing for the next round before voting for the current round has concluded. Should that happen, you are of course free to publish your story independent of the tournament!

I've never heard of Obama's Elf! I'd gladly put it in my entry except, well, no way in hell any real president is ever going into one of my smut stories.

Be careful with your jokes! Some people reading this might start to think that Obama is a real person!SoftGameHunter wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 6:47 am I've never heard of Obama's Elf! The first round of Ravished in a Flash has officially begun!
I would like to ask all competitors to engage with the other contestants' stories. In the later 1 vs 1 matches you of course don't need to rate your direct competitor. But it would be nice if you would rate or at least comment on your competitors stories for the first round. The last tournament struggled a lot because out of 16 people who signed up only 4 engaged with the other contestants' stories on average. Given that the we're dealing with flash fiction here, the time commitment to read all the stories is minimal, less than an hour for reading all of them. So please, show your competitors the same attention you wish to see for your own entry!
Good look everyone! I'm looking forward to reading what you wrote!

@MasterDebater and @Gordon: You can still hand in a story even if you're late. Your story will simply have less time to gain rating than the others. However, last time we had a 7 day voting period and one conestan handed in ther story 5 days late and still managed to win their match. So I encourage you to try!

If this is your first time here for a tournament, note that the voting is done a little different from the usual contests. There is no separate poll to determine who advances to the next round. Instead, the 8 contestants with the highest rated stories advance to the quarterfinal. So rate the stories you want to see it make to the quarterfinal, it's really easy:
We got 12 wonderful authors writing stories for all of us to read on very short notice. Each entry takes less than 5 minutes to read. Please show them your support! Thank you!
