Implied or Fade to Black scenes movies/TV shows

Post by FormerTomBoy »

Does anybody else have some favorite implied or fade to black scenes that they love in movies or a TV show? I find it hard to pick one that totally stands out to me, but I'd say some from Law & Order: SVU and some from cable TV movies do inspire me.

Though I still prefer when we get to see the scene itself and don't have to try and guess what or how it happened between victim(s) and rapist(s).

You can enliven a dull movie or show by imagining the characters going at it EVERY TIME the screen fades to black.

One of my favorite implied scenes is from the movie "Kalifornia" - David Duchovny & Michelle Forbes are a professional couple who get involved with a trashy/crazy duo played by Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis. They're traveling around and a lot of tension/friction boils over and the Pitt character abducts Forbes, leaving Duchovny behind. In a deserted old atomic bomb testing area he holds her bound, she manages to stab him, he drags her into a side room, cuffs her to the headboard of an old bed,...... and then unfortunately the scene cuts off. Duchovny eventually shows up (unfortunately) and when he finds Forbes in the bedroom it is clear she's been raped - and with the type of character Pitt played in the movie you can imagine it was a violent scene. Would love to have seen it filmed differently, but the fade out kind of tweaks the imagination.

I like a scene in the movie Shooter (2007), that stars Mark Wahlberg and Kate Mara. Kate Mara plays Sarah, Mark Wahlberg's girlfriend. Two goons break into her apartment, she shoots one, but a bit later she is shown in just bra and panties, tied to a chair. She's been beaten up and the other goon approaches her, saying, "It's just you and me, baby. All night!" Then, we see no more, but it's heavily implied he's going to rape her.

I don't think I've ever seen Shooter. I adore Mark and Kate as actors

Mara's assault in "Shooter" is pretty much confirmed later in the movie when, during the snowfield ambush that Wahlberg stages, she shoots Koteas right in the groin.

That's right! He was the 'goon'. And she doesn't say anything either, does she? Just shoots him.

Another good implied rape scene is in "I Spit On Your Grave 2" (2013) Jemma Dallender is chained to a mattress down in a basement and this old, gross fat guy tortures her with a cattle prod. Then he kneels on the mattress and begins unbuckling his pants and you know he's preparing to fuck her. No more is shown, then in a little while shows the fat guy walking up the stairs, buttoning up his pants and smiling, and you can see his face is all sweaty.

@Vile8r
If I remember correctly, there's a version of this scene circulating online that shows more than just a hint. I'll have to see if I can find it again.

P.S.:
Hmm, I was wrong. In the scene, you see him brutally shoving the cattle prod between her legs. And then a hint of him unfastening his belt and unzipping his pants. Unfortunately, that's all there is to it.
