Dogville. I hadn't thought about that one. It certainly does have the setting and story for it. Maybe viewers were too depressed after watching it?

Maybe they were. But you can’t deny that certain parts of the movie (certain scenes) were… Exciting.

I like Lars von Trier's work since I saw The Kingdom.
His films have a lot of raw sex, but they somehow don't put me in 'the mood'... actually, I think they never did.
Is there anyone else whose experience is somewhat similar?

I have seen just a few of his movies, and I’m not his fan at all. I only loved Melancholia. As for Dogville, well – that's the only one thst does put me
in the mood.
