This isn't really an image board, but a lot of us have one image we put to the public every time we post. We have avatars, small though they may be. They come to define us as a visual leitmotif of sorts. So how did we get them? Did you just see a cool pic and liked it? That's cool if you did.
My current avatar is exactly that. I found it on some image board almost twenty years ago and grabbed it, before I ever found my first rape fantasy message board. No idea where it comes from or who did it. I didn't even save the original file name. On my hard disk it's called SGH and girl.JPG, with a smaller version called SGH avatar.JPG so I can just upload it fast. Since it represents me, I like that the big demon face, leering and lusty, is the one we see, but as a cartoon demon it's not some dude's face on my wank-site identifier. The focus is still the girl, stretched out side, going nowhere, and about to have a really bad or possibly really good evening. There's no doubt about his intention towards this petite human woman. Of course, he looks about eight feet tall and is probably hung extra heavy, so she could be a women's MMA champion and still have a bad time of it. Is he a truly evil demon, or just a supremely horny one? It's a bit of erotic whimsy, which tends to be my creative hallmark more often than not.
But folk with a good memory might recall that I periodically change it up, usually if I have multiple accounts on other sites (back when other sites was a thing). Another picture I like to use is easily found online, and has its own Wikipedia page: The Knight Errant, by John Everett Millais. Mainly I just love the style of such an obviously erotic bondage painting coming out of the Victorian age. The current wiki doesn't go into as much detail, but he caught a lot of flack for this pic, and it was his only nude of his career. Note that in the very upper right, you can see the silhouette of two brigands running away. Our hero rescued the naked lass. But to what end? Is he the braver and more righteous, or just the better armed and armored. Is he rescuing her, or stealing her for himself? Admittedly, it's probably the former, but I'd argue that 'death of the painter', like 'death of the author', means I can as the viewer interpret it however I like. But even going with the original intent, at the very least the lass is frightened, humiliated, and may wall slish herself to the memory of this night in all her years to come.
So who wants to share? What does your avatar, the embodiment of yourself on the limited screen, say to and about you?
What's the story of your avatar pic?

I used to have a drawing of a hand gesture representing the shocker as my profile pictures many years ago, but nobody ever got it so I settled on the best Bond for the famous onliner. Does that mean I rebranded myself?
My collected stories can be found here Shocking, positively shocking

I'm fond of ducks and mosaic art; my avatar represents the nice combination.
Some might well say I'm an odd duck, too.

Re: What's the story of your avatar pic?
Years ago I created a Character for use in a roleplay that combined stoff from all over fantasy and sci-fi.
I later decided to use some of those old storylines as base for my Warhammer 40k fanfiction.
I have not really used Lady Sokara for my writing, almost all of it is just in my head except my Story "Freya's new slaves"
But I have drawn her in different variations and have a small number of comissions of her.
One of them was made by Artist Suumunster and depicted Sokara not as a powerfull chaos lord, but as sexy businesswoman, but with her horns and arm mutation.
This one lend itself most to be used as an avatar, but maybe I should change it up now and then?

Can't say there's anything deep about my avatar. I really liked the Violet Evergarden anime and when I started the forum I thought it was time to go for a new avatar. And Violet is a very interesting character. If anybody is interested in the anime, I can only recommend it. It has many very pretty character designs.
Maybe it's time for a new avatar?

I would get the reference, but it also became popular with Dane Cook. I liked his earlier stuff, but after a while it felt weird. Like Bond much more. I mean, being an author of rape porn is one thing, but having people think you're a Dane Cook fan? That might be a little too far.Shocker wrote: Sat Jan 17, 2026 5:44 pm I used to have a drawing of a hand gesture representing the shocker as my profile pictures many years ago, but nobody ever got it so I settled on the best Bond for the famous onliner. I'm a huge Star Trek fan, and one of my favorite characters was Lt. Barclay. He's the most awkward, nerdy, nervous, anxious man of the 24th century. He was so awkward even Capt. Picard made fun of him once, calling him by the nickname everyone used for him, Lt. Broccoli. I found this image one day when I came up with the name and stole it.

I must confess, only Lt. Barclay and James Bond are familiar to me. And I guess I know what ducks are, too.

I think it looks nice. I also kind of like when people use the same avatar all the time. @Shocker and @SoftGameHunter used those avatars on RavishU already. If they suddenly changed them, I'd be confused for a bit.

Re: What's the story of your avatar pic?
The avatar I use here is basically the best one I found for cool/hot exotic elf using magic wearing something that looks comfy/silky
on NB I use a picture of a winged valkyrie, other places a picture of the vela pulsar / neutron star /supernova remnant. I want to eventually properly draw or 3d model one of the forms of my character Vela, who is an eldritch abomination shape changing ooze with many bodies connected to her pocket plane via cracks/rifts in realities of many universes and planes and worlds.
